MINI PRINTS

Because so many young and beginning collectors have expressed an interest in posters, which we don't do, I've decided to make these beautiful, archival quality images available at prices comparable to posters. They are great as decorative accents whether used individually or in groups. As with all John Farnsworth's art, they are "paintings you can live with". Burnished Red Italian frames are the perfect compliment to these beautifully matted Mini-Prints.

What's new?

The Internet is new. And it's a great way to share art with a much larger audience than just those who already own it. It's wonderful, this ability to communicate with the whole world; with those who might otherwise never see my work.

This just may be the most exciting thing that's happened to my work since I started painting full time in 1968.

Another very exciting thing, and for the same reasons, is the advent of the new Giclée Fine Art method of printing.

This site was created, is being created, in Microsoft Front Page. It works in Explorer, and should work fine in Netscape. If you're having trouble with it in your browser, let me know.

It's best if you have at least an SVGA screen set at 800 x 600 or better, but it should be OK on a VGA screen at 640 x 480.

Because I'm an artist,  this site is of course mainly about images. Starting with the most recent , I'm working furiously to get them all set up with information and enlargements as available. If you would like more information about any of the images right away, drop us an email.

If you are already a Farnsworth Collector and see a piece you own here, let us know if you would like to be credited as the owner. If you don't see your painting here, let us know what you have, and we will do our best to get it up on the site as soon as possible.

This is Mossface. An original watercolor from our private collection. It depicts a Buffalo (Bison) skull, which we found in Wyoming, covered with lichen.

I wanted to bring it home with us, but a friend , some years before, had brought me a similarly covered horse skull. The lichen had dried up and fallen away in the dry Arizona climate, no matter how hard I tried to keep it moist. I knew the same thing would happen to this one. So, instead, I painted it.

We are now offering giclée prints on watercolor paper, and they are beautiful. Image size is approximately 22" x 30", and the price is $600.

Zuni Rain Maidens is a  pastel study done in the '70's.

12" x 9"   $8,000

And this was the original drawing for the piece, now missing.

More about the subsequent painting can be found by clicking here.

Zuni Cloud Maiden is a charcoal drawing, 15 1/2" x 41 1/2". The original is available at $2800, and giclées are $600 in the same size. Click on the thumbnail to see a larger image.
